It’s Monday. It’s grey and wet, and you’re probably a bit bored of all the election news by now. So, if like me you’ve been messing around online and looking at pretty things you’d like to buy, you’ll probably love this great stuff I’ve found.
And because you can never have too many cushions, here’s the first delight from Lampara; a lovely Oliver Goddard Cushion. And with a name like ‘Not Just For Kids’, you can see why it appeals to my need for fun and quirky stuff. Made from 100% cotton satin, and not from off the roll fabric, it’s totally unique and exclusively licensed. Designed and manufactured entirely in the UK, you are supporting local industry.

I bet you never knew that you needed a Shark Fin Chair from Made.com (who source straight from the designers) to put your cushions on now, did you? Did you even know one existed, and at a snip of just £449! I don’t need to tell you why I think this is great – it snaps for itself!
And if all this talk of sharks is getting you a bit dizzy, sit down, make a cuppa and light some candles in these lovely Owl tealight holders from Traidcraft. Aren’t they just the cutest little things? They are hand-carved with love from Indian Palawa Stone, by artisans supported by fair trade projects.

If owls just aren’t up your tree, then perhaps this beautiful fox cushion will win your heart. On sale at the Ethical Superstore for the bargain price of £16.45 (down from £29.95), I can see this little fellow confusing our cat in the very near future!
Now, it does appear that I’m trying to turn our apartment into some kind of mismatched farmyard of trinkets, cushions and even furniture, but I promise you that my search terms are not entirely filled with animal words! I do occasionally find things of curious and random wonder, such as upturned colanders turned into lampshades!
Now, just look at this and tell me you couldn’t find a way to accommodate it into your home, somehow? I love it, in it’s up-cycled, doing your bit and recycling, cutesy looking kinda way. If this isn’t quite your thing, but you like the idea, there’s loads of other up-cycled, fun and funky stuff on the protecttheplanet.co.uk site.
So, now you’ve made Monday a bit more fun, and for those of you not lucky enough to be off work today, it must be nearly home time now! Yay!
