It’s coming close to that time of year again when bare legs means hair removal. That is, unless you rock the hairy legs look, but I’ve yet to feel comfortable with that one! Turning from yeti legs to sleek woman legs is always a tiresome, time consuming process. Unfortunately waxing/sugaring turns my legs into a mess of ingrown hairs, so I’m always on the look out for natural, chemical free ways to reduce/remove hair!
Thanks to MyPure, I was able to try out the hair minimising moisturiser – Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow! – from LaidBare. It claims to help slow down hair regrowth after waxing and shaving. A combination of liquorice, caffeine and horse chestnut extracts combine to inhibit hair growth. It also contains a special blend of oils to help reduce inflammation and irritation from hair removal.
As I have dark hair, and quick regrowth, it would be nice to have to shave less in summer. So, I thought I’d get started early and put this stuff to the test!
I was surprised when I first used this and found that it’s like a runny gel, rather than a lotion. It’s really cooling and soothing – absolutely amazing after shaving, and even if it had no other effects, it would be great for just this alone!
I first applied it straight after shaving, and applied every morning and evening after. I’ve been using it for 3 weeks almost continuously now, with several shaves, and I really do think it’s making a difference. The hair regrowth the first time was roughly the same, but after the second shave and applications, it definitely came back more slowly, and I noticed the stubble was lighter and not so thick.
I’ve noticed gradual changes over the past few weeks, and I’d say it’s definitely having an effect. I’ll be monitoring it over a longer period to see if the reduced growth becomes more pronounced. I’ll definitely be back to report some more!
In the mean time, it’s a fantastic moisturiser and the soothing effects after shaving are marvellous. Even the slowing in hair growth so far is impressive. Especially great for an all natural, no nasties product! I’d definitely recommend it!
As with all products I use and review, this product is vegan and cruelty free.
