I often try and prep my smoothie ingredients the night before, so I can wake up, blend up and head out the door. However, this is one of my go-to recipes for when I haven’t managed to do that and I want something quick, easy and nutritious!
I use the Breville Blend Active – so all I have to do is throw everything in, blend in the bottle, and screw on a lid when it’s done. For my liquid ingredients, the amounts are therefore variable and I’d adjust to your own preferences. My bottle holds 500ml, so this may help you.
1 Organic Banana
2 large handfuls of Organic Spinach
Filtered/Glass Bottled Water (I use Highland Spring Water – drawn from organic land – in glass bottles to avoid plastic leaching and also the chemicals/hormones in tap water).
Half teaspoon Bart Organic Cinnamon Powder
1 tsp Organic Burst Maca powder (if you have never used maca before, start with a smaller amount and build up).
1 tsp Organic Burst Wheatgrass Powder
2 tbsp ground flax.
Blend and go!
This smoothie is great for breakfast – it gives you the amazing immune system, energy boosting, skin cleansing properties of wheatgrass and maca, along with the protein and omega 3 rich flaxseeds. Lovely!
