Reduce Waste… Never Buy Cotton Wool Pads Again!

Having discovered the wonders of the Konjac body sponge (pure vegetable fibre) in my earlier post, I was very excited to try the brand new eye cleansing pads. Thanks go to MyPure who sent me a pack to try out.

I don’t use cotton wool pads anyway, I use reusable cloth alternatives. They’re pretty fantastic and do the job well. Just use them, throw them in the wash with your regular clothes and let them dry. Yet when I read that the konjac ones can just be rinsed out and left to dry, then used again, the lazy side of me just had to give them a go!

As you can see, they are just small discs of konjac vegetable fibre – pretty much the same size and thickness and as cotton wool pad. To use them, you have to full hydrate them in warm water (never use dry), gently squeeze the excess water out (no wringing) and apply a little of your cleanser.

I tried them first without cleanser, and ended up with a mass of mascara underneath my eyelid! My make-up is completely natural, but it still needs a little help to shift it. With cleanser it’s so much more effective than any other make-up removal wipe I’ve used. Not to mention amazingly gentle.

Really soft and effective – just a few gentle wipes and the make up is all gone. Sometimes cotton wool pads and even the fabric wipes I use can leave your eyelids feeling slightly sore, but these are completely different. My eyelids actually felt softened, moisturised even and completely fresh.

All you then have to do is rinse the dirty pad under the tap, and it’s clean again! Pop it into the mesh bag which comes with the pads and once it’s dry, you can re-hydrate and use it again.

They do shrivel up and look like a weird kind of crisp when they’re dry, but they look perfectly normal once they’re wet again.!

As long as you take good care of them (don’t leave them wet or wring them out too hard) they will last for up to 3 months. The wonderful thing is, they can then be composted – the amount of waste you save here is fantastic.

So, they’re kinder on your skin and better for the environment. They are particularly good for those with ezcema and sensitive skin. Not to mention, completely natural and cruelty free. What’s not to love?

If you want to give them a try, they’re just £19.99 for a pack of 8 on MyPure.

Oh and you can also take them on holiday with you, as they’re an ideal travel companion! Hassle free cleansing!

Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful day.

I was sent this product free of charge for review purposes from MyPure. All opinions are my own.
