Lean Greens – Pure Goodness in a Tub

There are days when even the healthiest of us don’t manage to fit in our 5 a day. Being vegan, it doesn’t really happen that often, but it happens from time to time, and it’s really quite easy to eat a veggie diet without getting at least 5 fruits and vegetables on a daily basis. Now, if you’re health concious, this probably won’t happen that often, but if you’ve got a busy day at work, and an active evening, where you grab something on the hop, you may well miss out on some greens. You’re human, there’s no judgement. We often lead busier lives than our bodies can keep up with.

That’s where Lean Greens comes in as an amazing super-food supplement. One scoop of this nutrient packed powder, mixed into water or a smoothie will give you 5-a-day instantly.

Each tub of Lean Greens is packed with spinach, wheat grass, barley grass, alfalfa, chlorella, carrot powder, spirulina, broccoli, blueberry extract, blackcurrant extract, bromelain, siberian ginseng, green tea and digestive enzymes.

Lean Greens has alkalising properties, and when combined with digestive enzymes, can lead to improved health of the digestive system (raw vegetables and grasses flush out toxins), more energy, healthier bowel movements and less cravings for sugary foods as a result of a wide variety of nutrients.

Lean Greens kindly sent me a tub, so I could see what all the fuss was about. They also sent me a fantastic shaker, to efficiently mix up the powder with cold water (and also allows you to take your glass full of greens with you).

Simply mixed with cold water, I was amazed at how great this drink tasted. Usually green powders can leave a bitter taste and be quite difficult to gulp down, but this was fantastic. Really quite tasty. It’s not going to compete with your favourite cocktail or anything, but it’s certainly great for a health drink!

After a few days of drinking each morning, I’ve really found that my energy levels have improved. Even after the first drink, it gave me quite a boost. I also feel less lethargic and more alert in the mornings – which, as anyone who knows me will confirm, is nothing short of a miracle! It’s also made my skin brighter and clearer, and I generally just feel better.

I’m not a run the marathon, go to the gym kinda gal, so I can’t comment on how effective Lean Greens would be for that kind of exercise stamina, but I’m sure it would be fantastic! It gives me the get up and go to actually get on my yoga mat when I’m feeling tired after a long day, so that’s got to be a bonus! And another benefit I’ve noticed is that it tops up my zapped energy at my time of the month – and greens are full of iron too, so it’s a great one for us ladies!

In my opinion, this is a fantastic way to get your 5 a day, alongside a great range of other fantastic nutrients, without having to worry on those busier days. It will also get you through the busier days with more energy, and less risk of complete collapse on the sofa with a huge chocolate biscuit!
