My name is Lynsey and I am a tea-a-holic. Phew. Now that’s out there. Though, to be fair, if you follow me on any social media platform, it really is pretty damn obvious. And if you’ve visited my house, you quite possibly think I have a problem.
Yes, those are my tea shelves. There’s also a tea box, tea basket and tea cupboard. And since I took this photograph, there are more teas that have sneaked in. In fact, my hubby doesn’t understand why I keep buying teas when I already have this many. Well, you can never have too much tea, right?
I pretty much love all tea, but I’m sure I am not alone when I say that there are a lot of teas which don’t quite taste like the flavour described on the box. Some of these teas are very lovely, but they just taste like fruit or herbs, rather than Turkish Delight or Mint Chocolate Ice Cream. Don’t settle for these teas – try Bluebird.
I discovered Bluebird in November last year, when I treated myself to their Tea Advent Calendar. Yes, really! If you haven’t heard of this, do try one next Christmas! Anyway, after getting to sample delights such as Sugar Plum and Christmas Cake – yes it really does taste like Christmas cake – I was spoilt and had to try more.
Those Bluebirds are very naughty and they keep releasing limited edition teas, so just as you will no longer find Sugar Plum & Christmas Cake available, the Blueberry Pancake, Peanut Butter & Banana and Maple Bacon Pancake (yes, still vegan) teas are all off the menu. Which is a shame, because they are epic! Especially Blueberry Pancake, which truly has a cakey taste as well as a fruity one – it’s seriously my favourite tea of all time and I hope they bring it back (begging on hands and knees)…
Love Potion Tea
Whilst we’re on the subject of those elusive limited editions, Love Potion (vegan version) truly stole my heart and then did a runner at midnight… It tastes like a cup of strawberry fondant from the inside of chocolate. And it looks so pretty too.
So, what about a tea we can actually buy, I hear you shouting! Well, this limited edition Spring Tea is still available and if you love the taste of oranges and rich fruity marmalade, then you will absolutely adore Bears Like Marmalade… a tea fit for Paddington himself.
A beautiful and comforting blend of orange flower, rose and lemon. Wonderfully soothing when hot, and the best iced tea in town for the summer months. Stock up on this now – you’ll be wanting to cold brew this when you’re soaking up the sun.
And now that Bluebird Tea Co have me nicely addicted to their teas that actually taste like the description, I’ve signed up to their VIP Tea Club. For just £7 a month (plus £2.95 p&p) you can get three different teas a month, posted through your letterbox (eek!) and get to try their firm favourites and limited editions. They have some fantastic Easter Teas at the moment – so go quickly my friends, before they hop away!
As with everything I buy, you can be assured that Bluebird are wonderfully ethical. Most of their teas are vegan (you can get a vegan tea subscription option) and are also fairly traded, even though they are not certified as fair trade, and they pride themselves on being a truly sustainable, independent business. You can read more on their blog here.
Thanks, as always, for taking the time to read my post. I hope you enjoy Bluebird Teas as much as I do.
