As we become more aware of the toxic levels of waste that are polluting our planet and our oceans, a really simple way to cut down on plastic bottles and packaging is to use refill options where possible. These are now available in many zero waste stores for food and drink, refill stations for toiletries and cleaning products. And it’s as easy as carrying your own multi-use water bottle instead of single use plastic.
To raise awareness on National Refill Day – 19th June, I’m going to share a couple of my favourite refill options.
To join the popular stainless steel and bamboo water bottles, Global WAKEcup have released this stunning copper bottle. Copper has long been known to be anti-bacterial and can therefore clean up your drinking water, promoting good health and wellbeing. It’s completely airtight and leakproof – great for walks, festivals or day to day use.
Faith in Nature – 5l Refills
Many health shops and eco-conscious cafes are now offering refill stations – where you can refill a range of products, from laundry liquids to shampoo and conditioner. You can do the same at home – perhaps even go halves with a friend – with one of these 5l refill bottles from Faith in Nature. Equivalent to approximately 12 regular sized bottles, saving lots of plastic.
There are so many other ways to save waste by refilling. Please let me know your favourites in the comments.
I have been sent products from Global WAKEcup free of charge – links are affiliated. All opinions are my own.
